Finish Options

Selecting one of the available paint or stain finish options.

Want the tops and/or back finished in a different color than the rest of the hutch like the picture shown? No worries... Simply type the secondary finish color in the text box provided along with the location of that color. Our skilled finish shop will make sure it is done just the way you want!

Painted finishes come standard with light distressing and rubbed through edges. This gives the piece a traditional farmhouse/shaker style look that might include small imperfections in the wood & finish to add character to the piece.

Make sure to select "No Distressing" in the options above if you would like a solid finish without the distressed/weathered look.

Note: Prices vary depending on stained or painted colors. The price displayed will automatically change as you click through the finish choices.

Finish Shown: Primitive Black Paint (Main Finish Color) with Acres Cherry Stained Tops (Secondary Finish Color)

Colors shown may appear slightly different in person based on the color settings on your computer monitor and lighting when the picture was taken.

Finish Samples are available so you can see the colors in person to help decide what will work best for your home.

Build Time

The completion time for this piece is estimated between 4 & 8 weeks from the date the order is placed.

Once shipped out, the transit time can take an additional 7-14 business days to be delivered, but may vary based on your location.

Note: The lead times listed above are just estimates and may take more or less time than what is shown.

Shipping & Delivery

Your hutch will arrive completely assembled, but in two pieces (hutch top separate from the base) to make it easier to move into your home.

Make sure to look over the Hutch Delivery & Set-Up Instructions for information on how to secure the two pieces & remove the shipping blocks when it arrives. Below are details on the 2 available delivery options.

Curbside Delivery - FREE

All furniture orders in the lower 48 states come standard with free curbside delivery, which means the delivery driver will unload the hutch from the truck at the end of your driveway and in most cases will bring it up to your house, but not inside.

White Glove (Inside) Delivery - $99

For customers that need help bringing their furniture inside, we do offer an upgraded "White Glove" delivery option where the delivery company will bring an extra person to help unload and move your furniture into your home and set it up in the location of your choosing.

Waste of a LOT of money

Paid $2,800+ for this piece of crap and have regretted it ever since.

The wood is, exactly as the website says, pine — and about the softest, most easily scratchable pine I’ve ever had the displeasure to buy. I have to carefully move stuff around on the shelves for fear of marring the wood.

The paint job is unprofessional. The shiplap at the back of the piece IS painted, as it should be. But the paint has not been applied with a brush — as you would expect craftsmen charging $2,800+ for their work would apply it. Instead, the paint has been sprayed on. (Open the solid doors at the bottom. Look as the spray splatter at the back wall. Cheap, lazy, unworthy of a piece of furniture for which a company charges $2,800.)

And, as you’ll also see if you look at the back wall, the shiplap pieces weren’t painted individually, on every surface; they were pressed together before they were painted.

What does that mean? When the shiplap pieces swell (as they will), you can see stripes of bare wood (wood that should have been painted before assembly) running vertically between the shiplap pieces.

Amazing. And lazy. And cheap. And NOT professional.

When the piece first arrived at my house in New Jersey, the paint was also marred. They had to take the whole thing back to PA(?) to repair. I got the impression that the people who built it were working from plans bought from Wood Reserve. If they were, the plans stink.

Finally, the hutch is DANGEROUS. The pullout tray has for stops two screws drilled in from the bottom — and only 2-1/8 inches from the back of the tray. Thus, when you pull the tray out all the way, to the stops, you expose almost 17” of wood. If you put, say, dinner dishes on the tray, the tray slopes down away from hutch.

And DO NOT pull the tray out all the way when little kids are around. And God forbid they pull it out, The weight of the tray, and the lousy design that allows the tray to slope toward the person pulling it out, means that a kid pulling out the tray or anything left on it could bring all that crashing down on them. VERY DANGEROUS.

I bought this piece of junk — what else do you call a hutch with all these issues, and all for the tidy sum of $2,800! — over two years ago, yes. But like a lot of things, you don’t see all the good stuff OR the problems until you live with it a while. I’ve lived with it. I know the problems. (This is not one of those worthless “I have-had it-only-two weeks-but-love it” reviews.) Don’t be taken in by the pretty pictures and slick Wood Reserve website. This piece is made by amateurs, with cheap materials — and it could easily hurt a child you love.

This isn’t a review as much as it is a warning. Steer clear of this rip-off.

The wait was long and the price was substantial(we don’t have extra money these day) BUT I am completely happy once the item was delivered. I will not be able to buy cheap furniture ever again.

Excellent Customer Service

I was so excited to get this piece after I ordered it, but unfortunately, there was a small issue with one of the drawers. I immediately called The Wood Reserve and was blown away but how fast they took care of the issue! This is a gorgeous piece and I'm already to buy more furniture from this company.

Tons of Storage

I needed a new china hutch for our dining room and this is perfect. You can tell it's handcrafted and not some mass manufacturered piece of furniture.
